Time to play catch up! Food and Wine Part 1

So….now the grad school is over and the new job is in full swing, I am going to make a point to blog every week! That’s right EVERY WEEK! So get ready for more MouseLyfe in YOUR life!

This week’s blog was inspired by the enormous amount of Food and Wine pictures I still haven’t talked about! It’s time to get down to business because Epcot Food and Wine 2014 will be here in about a month. So let’s do our homework folks. I have broken food and wine in to a couple of blogs so we can make sure to cover it ALL 🙂

For you newbies, Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is Disney’s way of celebrating everything delicious and wonderful in the culinary world. Held each fall ( and this year for a record setting 53 festival days) at Epcot where you can sample and drink from countries around the world. The dates of this year’s event are September 19 through November 10, 2014. This year will feature 35 booths positioned all around World Showcase lagoon. This takes the concept of eating and drinking around the world to a whole new level. Each booth is themed after a country, region or offering. We will feature the booths and their offerings in another blog post because trust me…they deserve it. Most every booth will be offering several tapas style bites with savory and sweet samplings, wine/beer selections and a lot of love…awe! The food selections can range in price from $3-$8 and well worth your money! Epcot will also have a Festival Welcome Center open during this time. It is located between Universe of Energy and Mission:SPACE. At the Festival Welcome Center you can purchase specialty wines featured in the booths, view live culinary demonstrations or pick up some prizes for loved ones you left at home. MouseLyfe Tip: Disney sells small gift cards with bracelets at the Festival Welcome Center. PICK ONE UP! It will make your life so much easier than having to dig out a card or cash at every booth. You can even reload them at kiosks around Epcot. We never leave home without ours 🙂

You can also pick up your Festival Passport….actually you MUST pick these up, well I highly suggest it 🙂 This will be your guide to all the booths. It will have their menus and a place to have each “country” stamp your passport. Kind of cool to have something to remember all the food you tried and where all that weight you gained came from..haha! But seriously it’s a great way to know what you have tried and is a great way to get kids involved.Passportfood-and-wine-passportThere is plenty of entertainment, with the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, and celebrity chef visits (Two words…Robert Irvine). I look forward to sharing with you all in the next few blogs about the great treats I had last year at F&W. Keep checking back every week for new posts and let me know what you think or the questions you have in the comment section!
